Furniture Wrapping and Home Protection
This is not really a separate service. It is what should happen on every job, and the thing most often skipped when a quote is suspiciously cheap. It is worth knowing what good looks like so you can tell whether you are getting it.
What is included
- Moving blankets on every piece of furniture, corners first
- Shrink wrap over the blankets to hold them and keep upholstery clean
- Mattress bags so mattresses do not travel bare
- Floor runners on carpet and hard floors at both addresses
- Door-jamb and corner protection on the whole route
- Elevator pads where the building provides them
What changes the price
Included in the move. If another quote is much cheaper, ask specifically whether blankets and floor protection are included or billed as materials.

Protect the home first
Runners and jamb protection go in before anything is lifted.

Wrap the contents
Blankets then wrap. Wrap without blankets traps moisture against wood.

Load with padding in place
Tiered and strapped so nothing rubs in transit.

Unwrap at the end
Protection removed and taken away.

Common questions
Is shrink wrap enough on its own?
No. Wrap alone against wood or leather traps moisture and can mark the finish. Blanket first, wrap over it.
Do I need to buy materials?
Not for protection during the move — the crew brings it. Boxes for packing are separate.
