Condo moves are won or lost in the paperwork. Most buildings in Toronto and Mississauga will not let a truck near the dock without a booked service elevator and a certificate of insurance naming the corporation. Miss either and you are rescheduling — sometimes by weeks, because the good elevator windows go fast.

Everything is staged so the elevator runs full, every trip. Wasted trips are how a booked window runs out.

Common questions
What is a certificate of insurance and why does my building want one?
It is proof from an insurer that the moving company carries liability coverage, usually naming the condo corporation. Most GTA buildings require it before they will release the service elevator. Ask us for it as soon as your date is set.
How long should I book the elevator for?
A one-bedroom typically needs three hours, a two-bedroom four, a larger unit a full window. Book more than you think — buildings rarely mind an early finish and always mind an overrun.
Can you move in the evening?
Only if your building allows it. Most GTA corporations restrict moves to weekday business hours, and some prohibit Sundays and holidays entirely.
