Movers in North York
North York has one of the highest concentrations of apartment towers in Canada, and a lot of them are not new. Older buildings mean smaller service elevators, narrower corridors and stricter move-in hours than the glass towers downtown — which changes how a move has to be staged.
Local knowledge
What is actually different about moving in North York
Older towers have smaller elevators
Along Sheppard, Finch and Jane, many buildings date from the 1960s and 70s. The service elevator is often too small for a full-size sofa upright, which means disassembly or a different route. Worth checking before the day.
Move-in hours are often stricter than downtown
Plenty of North York buildings restrict moves to weekday business hours and prohibit weekends entirely. Confirm with management before you commit to a date.
The Yonge corridor is congested at the wrong times
Between Sheppard and Finch, arrival timing matters. We schedule around it rather than into it.
Willowdale and York Mills houses are large and full
Big detached homes with finished basements. Volume, not access, is the variable here.

FAQ
Moving in North York — common questions
My building has a small elevator — is that a problem?
It is manageable, but tell us in advance. Small elevators mean more trips and sometimes disassembly, and a crew sized for a modern tower will run over.
Can you move on a weekend in North York?
Only if your building allows it — many do not. Check with your property manager before booking a date.
